Field Notes

Description:

Yellow colored grasshopper nymph with red, mottled eyes. There is a black spot on each side above the middle leg. The thorax has a light stripe across it. Legs are banded.

Habitat:

Coast Sage Scrub during a wildlife transect survey at Blue Sky Ecological Reserve.

Notes:

Possibly Melanoplus cinereus cyanipes or M. devastator
