Field Notes

Description:

Ornamental tree, planted by the hundreds in residential, civic and educational settings. Beautiful in bloom, but with an acrid, pungent smell ... you don't notice it after awhile. I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild, so perhaps a "man-made" tree?
