Description:

Huge carpophore, over 50 cm across. Hooflike close to the tree, becoming very large and flat toward edges. Rusty brown above, whitish below.

Habitat:

Seen growing on a living tree on a pathway between a pasture and a wheat field, rural part of Geneva suburbs, edges of lowland broadleaved forest.
