Field Notes

Description:

Maybe 1 meter in length. This very slim snake has an ever slimmer neck and its head seems rather large because of it. It has brown checker block markings on its body. And as the name says ... speckle headed. Its head is pointy like other whip snakes, and its eyes are very slit like.

Habitat:

BangPae National Park. Jungle, on top of a small plant/young tree. It was a rainy day in rainy season at 12.33 pm. He/ she was near a waterfall.

Notes:

As I was taking pictures of some fruits, my eyes fell on this little plant/ tree and it took a while for me to see that there was a small thin snake on top of it. It did not move at all and let me come quite close before it "airswam" away. Beautiful! So quick and slim and just simply stunning. As you can see on pictures 1/2/3 he/she has just eaten something.
