Description:

This little guy tried to attack my camera, but then realized just how big I was and immediately fled. He actually managed to hide in a thick marsh, which meant I couldn't get anymore shots-- a shame.

Nice shot! Too bad it escaped before continuing it's photo debut. This reminds me more of a Chinese Mantid nymph (though nymphs can be very difficult). Take a look at this: http://bugguide.net/node/view/507018/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/5189/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/10098 It would be great if you would consider adding this to the Marvelous Mantids of the North East mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/15738247
