Description:
Some neat doves hanging out by a lake in Independence. The Eurasian collared dove moniker I am giving to the bottom specimen. The top I am not sure is a Eurasian collared dove juvenile or the similar looking (and difficult to tell by the picture) ringed neck dove. A two for one spotting would be neat but until I know for sure I won't tag it.
Habitat:
This dove, while not migratory, is highly dispersive. Starting out in subtropical Asia this dove has reached most all of Europe and the tip top of Africa. In 1974 they escaped captivity from the Bahamas to start colonizing North America, where they are considered an Invasive species.
