Description:
The Gulf Fritillary or Passion Butterfly (Agraulis vanillae) is a striking, bright orange butterfly. Gulf Fritillary caterpillars grow from a tiny worm-like caterpillar to a large green chrysalis. Then emerge into a large orange and black butterfly.
Gulf Fritillary larvae are very colorful and voracious feeders on passionvine. Caterpillars usually take from one to three weeks to reach pupation size depending on species, temperature and amount of food available.
