Field Notes

Habitat:

In a pond at the SF zoo.

Notes:

I am pretty sure this is a rehab bird. It is banded. There was no enclosure to keep the bird from flying away, though it could have had an injury or its primaries clipped. The zoo takes in other rehab birds that are deemed "unreleasable" by the USFWS. These birds are normal visitors to this area.
