Field Notes

Description:

Greenish, yellow raft-layer of spherical eggs approximately 1.2cm is length. Each has a small dark spot in the center and the concentration of the color is darker at the center and fades to transparent towards the edges of the raft.

Notes:

I found similar images online but would love for further verification on the species.

My best guess is a moth; possibly Cryptaspasma sp. http://biocontrol.ucr.edu/cryptaspasma/cryptaspasma.html
Ever figure out what these were?? Hmmm. Interesting.
Wow, neat find! Thank you so much for posting to the Eggs of the Lowcountry Mission! I also have created a new Mission for "beachy" things in our area. Would love to have you come and join. :) http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/332216008
It is on my glass door so as long as no one or nothing disturbs it, I hope to take a picture each day. I think it will be very interesting.
