Field Notes

Description:

Stringy, branched moss with elongated clear tips to "leaves" and distinctive capsules (open capsules shown near center of photo).

Habitat:

Found on rocks very close to water. This was found very close to Cascade Falls in Pembroke, Virginia.

Notes:

I'm reasonably confident that I have the correct ID, but am more than willing to consider other possibilities.
