Description:

Appears to be some young dryad's saddle just beginning to emerge form a tree wound.

.

Habitat:

The streets of northeastern Grand Rapids.

Notes:

Edit: Went back a few days later after plenty of rain and took some more pictures

Edible, but because of it's roadside location, I would worry about it possibly harboring pollutants from the air, particularly from car emissions.
