Description:

The genus Platydracus contains some of the largest rove beetles in North America, which can be 30 mm in length!

Habitat:

Rove beetles feed on decaying matter.

Notes:

Lifer! I've seen a Platydracus sp. before, but since it was dead, and the elytra were raised, I was unable to narrow it down to species.
