Field Notes

Description:

The species has a wingspan of 19–22 mm. The length of the forewings is 9–11 mm. The adults fly in one generation from June to August

Habitat:

It inhabits open areas of woodland, parks and gardens and other weedy places, and the larvae feed on various types of moss, but also fallen leafs and low-lying plants such as dandelion (Taraxacum). It is found in Europe and the Near East.
