Description:

7 'to 9 ' tall producing up to 20 upright spiraling thin bracts red to yellow or red to pink-orange.

These plants attract hummingbirds and insects to their flowers. Bats also use their leaves for shelter.

Habitat:

Garden in Tuetal de Alajuela, Costa Rica

Make a spotting #3 with the other way round at we'll see... I still think yours might be upside down, looking at the other structures.

Ehm... Marta, could it be that your Heliconia is upside down??? This is my only candidate! There are some other breeds of Heliconia lingulata: Fan, Red Tip Fan, Spiral Fan. Yours is the Red Tip Fan.
