Description:

A red ladybird with black spots, finely furry.

Habitat:

savanna/woodland

Notes:

Observed at Siphiso campsite, Mlawula Nature Reserve.
Henosepilachna spp. are covered with fine hairs and appear dull; this specimen is hairless and glossy. ( http://www.ispot.org.za/node/134726 )

Bo, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it appears that this species is found in Asia and Australia, so this one might be related but a different species?
looks similar to Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata (28 Spotted Potato Ladybird)
