Field Notes

Description:

The wing development of a metamorphosing Dragonfly. I found this Dragonfly as shown in the first picture, fully emerged from it's previous life cycle's exoskeleton. 30 minutes later (picture 2) his wings were fully formed and ready to dry. I planned on taking pictures in 30 minute increments to show the wing's development, but the entire process was over when I returned.

Habitat:

Rail of dock, located in large freshwater pond with adjacent pine/oak forests.

Notes:

Approaching full moon/summer solstice in 2 days.
