Tailorbird's Nest

Urban. This nest was found on the shrubs making up a living fence. it was on the outside facing the road and away from the garden-side, which would have been an intuitive guess. There were three chicks deep inside which was impossible to photograph without touching the nest. Dogs, cats, children, crow, black kites and other opportunistic birds were around but the nest was excellently camouflaged. I only noticed it because of the frequency with which the adult bird was alighting, looking around, hopping sideways and disappearing only to fly out quickly from the hedge. Actually it was the hopping sideways that gave the game away.
