Description:

This specimen I saw buzzing furiously around many flowers, then it rested on a leaf and started licking its legs to clean them from the pollen which had remained attached to them. In this process it never opened his wings, maybe using the comouflage these have to protect itself from predators in this delicate moment. After it had finished it started flying again and finally showed me its back and letting me identify it.

Habitat:

mediterranean flowers on the coastline
