Field Notes

Description:

Found in semi-arid grassland near cholla cactus, prickly pear, rabbit brush and salt brush. This plant was in an arroyo (wash) grouped together, first time I've seen these in my many walks through the prairie in southeastern colorado.

Habitat:

Semi-arid grassland/shrubland in southeastern Colorado (Pueblo).

Could be broadleaf milkweed?
I'm curious too! A few people thought it looked similar to eucalyptus though I doubt there's any connection.
It looks like some kind of bean plant. I'll be curious to see what it is when someone IDs it for you.
