Field Notes

Description:

animal droppings containing many porcupine quills. a friend said it was most likely from an owl and I think he's right

Habitat:

road through forest

Notes:

I spotted these animal droppings on a concrete railing that went over a small bridge of the road through Baluran national park. I was surprised to see it on a thin railing and wondered what animal would go up there to defecate. It wasn't until a friend said it was probably from an owl that it made sense. It could easily land of the railing, do its business, then fly away.
