Field Notes

Description:

We watched this young seal doing its stretching exercises for some time, and were told by our guide that this was a young specimen, that posed itself on these rocks in search for a nap - and that it was now waiting for high tides to sweep hei/her back to water.

Habitat:

Seen resting on rocks in natural reserve of 7 islands, coasts of Atlantic in northern Brittany, France. Grey seals are very common in this reserve; managed by French LPO - the Bird Protection League
