Field Notes

Description:

A small nocturnal frog resting on a low fern plant. Have a green body and a distinct white "lip" on it's mouth. Variations may occur in this species. Some individuals develop dark spots and brown skin. There is also a chance that this frog is a H. megalonesa which is almost similar to H. raniceps except for the difference in size where H. megalonesa is a larger species.

Habitat:

On low plant leaves or near ponds in Tawau Hills Park, Tawau, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 200m diameter. Spotted this with Dan during a night walk in one of the forest trails
