Description:

Help I.D. this VINE thats choking our cypress fir tree to death!

There are two vines encircling this poor ol' tree in DM front yard.
One of them is ivy but what is the second vine thats of a lighter green shade with 4 or 5 leaves?
It looks to be slowly strangling the tree as the underbelly of some of the trees branches are beginning to yellow and look extremely dried out. The other two cypress trees don't have any yellowing or drying so I know that it's not due to lack of water.
I want to pull off the vine to save the tree but am afraid it may be poisonous so I'd like to identification or suggestions before doing so. Thanks!

Habitat:

Front yard.
Climbing up cypress (?) tree.
Vine has encircled the cypress tree and seems to slowly be sucking the life out of said tree.

A week or 2 later back at location: Tree is MUCH worse than in above pictures - very dry and brown, like it’s suffocating. DH successfully wrestled this very strong and persistent vine off of the poor fir tree - thankgod! Its tendrils had were just inches away from getting a good grip on the above telephone wire. Relentless weed - much more obnoxious than i’ve ever remembered it being. Note: Pseudo-grapes were observed on the Virginia creeper as well. Kudzo, English ivy, VA-creeper, et al. - what a nightmare they are in many places here in the mid-Atlantic states.
