Field Notes

Description:

Upper-parts and breast are brown to black. Shiny black head has a small crest. Buff belly, white rump and upper-tail coverts, under-tail coverts are red. Brown-black tail is white-tipped. Legs and feet are brown-black.

Habitat:

Scrublands and native forests.

Native from Indian Subcontinent.
Highly invasive species! first spotted in Oahu in 1966.
