Description:

I saw several of these around the park. I love the interesting center of the web.

Habitat:

Sandy with lots of saw palmetto and pine trees at Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park

MrsPbio, It appears I had the correct scientific name but wrong common name. I must've changed it or something and forgot to change the common name. Not too sure

I saw this again, and thought "now who on earth ever thought that was a golden orb?" Then I opened it and.... it was me. Oooops.. It IS an immature orb-weaver, but NOT a golden orb. I believe it is an immature Argiope aurantia. Check the link I gave in the ID. Sorry! I'm actually embarrassed by my incorrect ID!
I think this is a young golden orb weaver. You have another spotting of this that I gave a link to double-check it.
