I have come across this species in California. I used to do a lot of pitfall trapping for small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. These spiders were frequently caught in the traps, suggesting that most of their activity occurred nocturnally. They were occasionally excavated from the soil when digging out the pitfall locations.
