I would highly advise you to return this turtle to the wild. One of the major threats facing box turtles,as well as other turtle species, is the capture of individuals for the pet trade. Global reptile and amphibian populations are suffering. Don't be part of that!
Please only keep it a day or 2 for observation and then release it back where found. They require natural sunlight (not direct) to be able to make vitamin D so that they make a hard shell and keep their immune systems bolstered so they do not get the herpes virus (a turtle virus, not human) or other disease.
Yes, we found it and my son begged to keep it!
I am making the assumption that this is an animal you found, and not one you bred. That being said, nice find with the baby box! Those things are secretive!
