Description:

A small European Preying Mantis sitting on the underside of a leaf.

Habitat:

Vegetation bordering a pond

Notes:

Dozens of these little guys were easily found in the line of natural plants on the edge of a pond bordering my yard. Later in the year the adults come in mass numbers to breed in the same area.
