Description:

The male has a green head, a brown neck with a white band, a tan underside, black and white tail feathers, and orange feet. The female has a brow speckled head and brown speckled wings and underbelly, with white tail feathers. It is 50 to 65 cm long with a 81 to 98 cm wingspan.

Habitat:

Marshes, grain fields, ponds, and rivers
