Description:

This is a medium sized to large butterfly that has a rust to brown upper body with black and darker brown markings, Wing margins are ragged. The underside of the body is mottled in various shades of brown with a white to silver comma mark.

Habitat:

This butterfly belongs to a group called Angelwings and they are all similar. Another common Angelwing is very similar to the Eastern Comma and is commonly called the Question Mark butterfly. It's underwing white to silver mark resembles a question mark complete with the dot.
