Field Notes

Description:

Brown-headed Cowbirds females are known to lay eggs in other bird species nests, to be raised by the foster bird.
This fledgling is non-descripted bird related to the Blackbirds. Shorter tail, thicker head and more stout body. Bill is shorter and thicker then it's cousin, and resembles the shape of a finch's.

Habitat:

Mostly open areas where it can forage.

Notes:

My first spotting of a fostered Cowbird. This one is by a California Towhee.
