Field Notes

Description:

Tall plant, over 7 ft. Not sure if it's a tree or very prolific shrub. Found in my side yard in TN. Leaves or reminiscent of an oak but aren't clearly identifiable by dichotomous key.

Habitat:

Sort of clay soil like they use in new housing developments. Temperate southern climate with plenty of rain and unobstructed sunlight.

Species ID Suggestions

White Mulberry

Morus alba

Comments (1)

Kill it, is an invasive pest threatening the gene pool of our native mulberries.
