Field Notes

Description:

The Polka Dot (Pardopsis punctatissima) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family.

The wingspan is 30–34 mm for males and 33–36 mm for females.

Adults are on wing year round with a peak from October to March.

Habitat:

Seen beside a river in low bushveld. Grass, shrubs and trees.
Wiki says: It is found in fynbos, lowland and afromontane forest and grassland from the Van Staden’s Pass in the East Cape and then along the foothills of the eastern escarpment into Mpumalanga and the Limpopo Province, north to Mozambique and then from Zimbabwe to Abyssinia. It is also present in Madagascar.

Notes:

I know this is a Polka Dot butterfly, but I couldn't find the scientific name on the net. Maybe I have the wrong spelling...
