Description:

This spider was sitting on a leave of an Alchemilla. It's body is about 2cm in length and it is holding some kind of ball (eggs ?)

Besides 8 legs it has an additional pair of small "legs" it is using to hold the ball.

Does anybody know what kind of spider this is and what the ball shaped object is it is holding between its legs ?

Looks like a Nursery web spider ..Family Pisauridae. the characteristic feature of this family is that they carry their egg sacs by means of their jaws and pedipalps....as seen in this pic :)
