Field Notes

Description:

Yellow to orange in color with caps ranging from 2 to 9 cm (0.8 to 3.5 inches) with wavy margins. Also has a smooth to lightly shallowly wrinkled undersurface. Its mycorrhizal partner is oaks in eastern North America.

Habitat:

Found growing in the side yard under a mature live oak.
