Field Notes

Description:

The clumsily constructed nests are apparently sturdy enough to bear the weight of these chicks. The whiteband-like marks on the supporting branch are dried fecal trails.

Habitat:

Very high up in tall trees lining an avenue. Many nests nearby; almost a colony.

Notes:

Loud vocalizations and ceremonial greeting when one of a pair arrives.
