Description:

Pincushion Moss growing on a rock on the Radar Hill ridge, Fort Shafter, Oahu, Hawaii. Need an assist from a 'Bryophyte' expert to identify this one! Second picture is a zoomed in shot.

That was a slip, has been re-designated as a "plant".
I think this one is used by some gardeners as it can grow over almost any shape in it's path. I've seen whole front gardens done with it near Dana Point, Calif. They look amazing but must need regular watering. (not related to fungi of course)

Beautiful. It looks like Leucobryum glaucum to me.
