Field Notes

Description:

I find this moth quite angular...no soft curves but very geometrical. Touch of red on the wings brighten up an otherwise drab brown.

Habitat:

Saw it first on a staircase where I photographed it using a flash (second photo) and then it entered the room and settled on a curtain (first photo). Perhaps it did not like being stalked and it flew away.

Notes:

Also known as Silver-striped Hawk-Moth.
