Field Notes

Description:

This skimmer is about 6cm in length, with distinctively pruinose blue abdomen, wings with black veines and black pterostigma. There is amber yellow patch at the base of hind wings.

Habitat:

Found in a mixture of habitats just between the edge of the forest and a sandy beach, with few stagnant water bodies scattered around. Julia skimmer is reported as common within it's range.
