Field Notes

Description:

Mushrooms with reddish brown caps about 30 mm wide. The caps were darker in the centre with an umbo. Orange-brown gills were adnate and had fine decurrent tooth. <br>
The pale brown stipe was narrow and had a wispy cortina stained dark by spores.

Habitat:

Spotted growing in sodden dirt, amongst trees, in a wet eucalyptus forest - national park.

Notes:

The features match that of Cortinarius mushrooms but I am not able to find a species match.

This genus ID needs confirmation.
