Field Notes

Notes:

I watched this egret fishing for a while. When a small fish was near, the bird would cock its head sideways and get close to the water. Then jab its beak into the water and come up with a fish. After watching this about 6 times, the bird never missed catching a fish.

Thanks Tom! I'm considering the Canon 7D but it is $$$! I might just upgrade my lens to a better 700mm-300mm telephoto for now! Your shots are always so lovely!
Thanks Emily. I'm using a Canon 5D with the Canon 500mm lens and the 1.4x teleconverter.
Great shot! Tom, what kind of camera and lens do you use. I'm considering an upgrade!
