Description:

This small chunky bird is about 15 to 19 cm (5.9 to 7.5 in) in length. They have a white throat patch. Upper body is mottled brown and streaked. Breast is lighter with light streaking. There are two color versions of this bird. The first photo is of the white-striped version. The second photo is the "buff-on-brown" face version.

Habitat:

Summer range extends from central Canada to the New England states. They winter in southern and eastern U.S. and the Canada Maritime Provinces.
