Field Notes

Description:

Another emergence of these mushrooms (only one of three is shown) which I think are the same as here http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7039197 and here http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/18364039 which were spotted on a different root system at the present location. I added the last photo from May 3, 2014 to show the gilled underside.

Habitat:

This mushroom was growing off of an exposed tree root in a large semi-urban yard and garden next to a disturbed patch of remnant forest. This location is in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
