Description:

Male Red winged Black bird is black with a vibrant red shoulder. Beneath the red patch is a small yellow border.

Habitat:

Fence bordering lagoon and water soaked ditches.

Notes:

I watched this bird preening. Red becomes more visible when this bird makes calls.
