Hi Kya. The Wikipedia link in my suggested ID doesn't have good photos ... enter Acai into a search engine and I think you'll see your tree. It's native to South America, but your tree looks like it's probably part of a landscape planting and that could account for it being so far from home. Also, it looks like the berry is edible, the latest "superfruit" ... if my ID is correct.
