Field Notes

Description:

A species of narrow-mouthed frog found in South India. the underside of the body is brown with scattered white spots, giving it the common name.

Habitat:

On the wall of a building on the high ranges of the western Ghats.

Notes:

The frog calls loudly in the mating season. It hides under stones and logs on the forest floor and within tree holes for the rest of the year.
