No problem! They look very similar overall, it's just the little differences that matter! The link I included in my suggestion points out those characters :)
Eastern ribbon snakes have unmarked lips (where yours has black marks on the lips) and they have a white spot in front of the eye (which yours lacks). This is an eastern garter snake, Thamnophis sirtalis.
