Beats me Rahul. I must have copied the wrong species name to here. It's corrected now. Thanks. Joe
Always welcome...:) But why does the name of this flower read Ixia chinensis, which is different plant?
Rahul, thanks for the info. You are teaching me a lot. Since these are two different species I moved the yellow one to a new entry. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/381... Thanks again. Joe
Hey Joe, the two can be differentiated on the basis of the petal tip(not very reliable because we hv several hybrids) and the leaf base. I coccinea has cordate(heart-shaped) leaf base n pointed petals while I. chinensis has cuneate(triangular) leaf base n round petals. So, the red one looks like I. chinensis and the yellow I. coccinea...Hope this helps..:)
Rahaul, might be Ixora coccinea too. What do you think? Joe
RahulUpadhyay, thanks for the info. Joe
