Description:

The mushroom was about one inch high and two inches wide. It was red all over.

Habitat:

In some dirt near a trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

It is probably not possible to ID to species with these photos. Best to leave at Russula sp. for the scientific name. Many mushrooms require photos of the gills, stem, and mycelium, and some also require spore prints so it can be difficult to positively ID many mushrooms to species.
Yeah, probably, but I have no idea what kind.
Probably a Russula species
