Field Notes

Description:

This Drepanid Moth (family Drepanidae, subfamily Drepaninae) looks near to Teldenia nigrinotata Warren, 1896 and Teldenia specca Wilkinson, 1967.

I can't find any Philippine distribution record of Teldenia nigrinotata, while T. specca has distribution in Palawan. Another species, T. unistrigata Warren, 1896 has Philippine distribution. The latter 2 Teldenia are easily separated on wing markings, as the postmedials of T. specca are made up of dark reddish lunules and those of T. unistrigata are much fainter, linear, entire.

Habitat:

Backyard.
